Randagi incidenti abbandoni

Fotoreportage realizzato presso l’ospedale abbandonato di Beelitz Heilstatten che si trova nel Brandeburgo (Germania).
L’Heilstatten (sanatorio) della cittadina di Beelitz fu costruito nel 1898 ed è diventato con gli anni uno dei luoghi abbandonati più noti e carichi di fascino. Il complesso è formato da decine di edifici: una vera e propria “città-ospedale” autosufficiente. Durante le due Guerre Mondiali è stato impiegato per il ricovero dei militari feriti. A partire dal termine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale è divenuto il più grande ospedale militare sovietico, al di fuori dei confini russi.
Con la caduta del muro di Berlino (1989), l’intera “città-ospedale” di Beelitz è stata progressivamente abbandonata.

Un progetto dedicato alla “fotografia di abbandono”, ai luoghi della memoria, a quelle città fantasma apparentemente morte ma paradossalmente ancora vive.

Photojournalism built at the abandoned hospital in Beelitz Heilstätten located in Brandenburg (Germany). The Heilstätten (sanatorium) in the town of Beelitz was built in 1898 and has become over the years one of the best known and most abandoned places full of charm. The complex consists of dozens of buildings: a real “city hospital” self-sufficient. During the two World Wars has been used to shelter the wounded soldiers. Since the end of World War II has become the largest Soviet military hospital outside the Russian borders. With the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989), the whole “hospital city” of Beelitz was gradually abandoned. A project dedicated to the “picture of neglect”, to the places of memory, to those ghost towns apparently dead, but paradoxically still alive.
